Trond Rismo has been appointed commercial director of Andfjord Salmon. Rismo has been working in the seafood industry since 2012 and was most recently country director for the Norwegian Seafood Council in Portugal.

May 5, 2025

Andfjord Salmon delivered its first generation of salmon to the market in the summer of 2023, with excellent biological and production results. Since then, the company has been further developing its facilities and is now in a construction phase, with the next stage of introducing salmon into the pools rapidly approaching. The new commercial director will be responsible for sales, marketing, and logistics, including the go-to-market strategy, initially aimed at B2B markets.

Strong faith in the technology

"Norwegian salmon is the worldwide market leader in the category. The marketing work that has been carried out over the past 25 years has created a unique global position. Andfjord Salmon is well positioned to differentiate itself and deliver sustainable salmon to the market, both economically and environmentally. I have strong faith in the technology that Andfjord Salmon has developed," says Rismo.

For the past three years, he has worked operationally in the Portuguese market and been responsible for all the strategic initiatives there. He will assume his post at Andfjord Salmon in August this year.

Rismo is a graduate of the Norwegian College of Fishery Science, has been business manager at Hammerfest municipality, and held several senior positions at Norway Seafoods. In addition, Rismo worked at the Norwegian Seafood Council for nine years, as industry manager for cod fish and business relation manager with responsibility for the strategic investment for all species in the Seafood Council. For the past three years, he has led the Seafood Council's work in Portugal.

A major strength for Andfjord Salmon

"I am very pleased to have Trond Rismo join the Andfjord team. He has extensive expertise in exporting seafood and has the right competence for Andfjord Salmon at our current stage and heading into the future. Trond knows the seafood industry well, both from the production side and from the international market side. His skills and experience will undoubtedly be a great strength for us," says Andfjord Salmon's CEO Martin Rasmussen.

The new commercial director is already a firm believer in Andfjord Salmon's potential. "This is one of the key ways of producing salmon in the future. We are experiencing huge demand for Norwegian salmon in the international market, and this market position can continue to grow. With its unique concept and story, Andfjord Salmon has great potential to differentiate itself in terms of both sustainability, technology, and origin," says Rismo.
